John 1:12-13
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Understanding your identity as a child of God starts with receiving and embracing the love of the Father. He calls me chosen, loved, and favoured.

Nothing I do can make this less true. None of my failures, mistakes or my disobedience, or even my behaviour can make me less loved by God. His love embraces all of me just as I am.

“Shame is the fear of being unworthy, and it adversely affects our relationship with God, ourselves, and others. It greatly hinders our ability to receive God’s unconditional love.”
