Statistics say that 80% of children know their abusers. The fact is that most abusers are replicating abuse that happened to them. Our society is hurting and Jesus has placed us, His Church here to address this brokenness. One way we can do this is by providing a Safety Net to ensure we do not become a statistic on the child offence registry.
Do we pray and believe for the safety of our children? Of course, we do, but we need to be vigilant as well. At Doxa Deo KIDS we see the safety of our children as a top priority. Parents trust us with their children and we make every effort to ensure that their trust is well-founded.
As mentioned in the Five-Step Process, our vetting protocol is our first line of defence to protect our children. There are other ministry protocols like, our Dress-code and the Buddy-system, that will also be introduced to you in this section, all of which is aimed at keeping our children and you as partner leader safe.
May this not be a tedious task that just needs completing, but an eye-opener for us to up our vigilance and understanding of the importance of protocols set in place.
